25 hp merc pee hole

I have a 25 hp mercury SN: 5370932 ran it for about 30 min in a no wake lake yesterday, there are 6 holes in the back (pee holes) water is just squirting out of them, but there is a hole on the left side of the lower unit peeing a good streem of water is my water pump bad? and what year would this motor be?

That is a 1979 production number (serial), but Merc didn't build a 25 horse in 79 - so not exactly sure what you have there.

As to your other question - based on what you describe your water pump sounds fine - lot's of water is circulating...

The one confusing statement is "hole on the left side of the lower unit" - do you mean the "leg"?
