"I have an electric start on my o/b and it has 2 push buttons one with two wires going to it to start it and another one with two wires going to it to kill the motor, i was wondering if anyone knew if i could get rid of the buttons and put in a key switch any help would be greatly appreciated."

"You can purchase a ignition switch from your local dealership that has six terminals on the back of it, marked as:

B = Connect wire to fused line of Pos battery terminal.

S = Connect wire to small 3/8" nut terminal that energizes starter solenoid. (This eliminates the two wire push button that you have starting the engine).

C = If your engine has an electric choke, connect a wire to the choke solenoid.

A = connect a wire to any accessory that you want 12 volts to be applied to when key switch is in the ON position.

M = The two black wires that stops the engine, connect one of them here.

M = Connect the other black stop wire here."
