Hello
This is my first post in this forum. I am hoping someone can help me.
The engine starts and runs like new when at idle and low speed (quarter throttle). After that I run into trouble. I will be going down the lake at half to full throttle and then it acts as if the motor is starved for fuel. When I pump the fuel bulb of the gas line it will resume speed. I have to keep squeezing the bulb by hand to keep the motor running. I have replaced the fuel pump, and put in a new carb kit. What is really weird is when the boat is fully loaded down I can open the throttle and I have no problems? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do a complete check of the fuel lines from the pump to the connector.-Then the o-rings in the hose connectors.-------Then the tube going into the tank and screen at the bottom..-----------Not much money required to do these checks.

Thank you racerone. Would it be best just to buy a new tank hose ? The tank is old, do you suspect it is getting starved at the tube going into the tank?

I would think that anyone should inspect and test stuff before rushing out to spend money.----------I have seen the plastic tanks and the cheap hose inside them deteriorated / aged with time.---------Maybe you need a new tank , maybe you need a new hose.--Only after checking them can you decide.-You have diagnosed your motor to have a fuel problem, so check it all out.
