"I have a pair of Honda 225s on my 32 ft Pro-line. Whithin a few seconds of bringing up the throttles the engines are dying. Seems like the starboard motor starts to lose rpm first, followed by the port motor. If I cut back on the throttles soon enough, I can keep them running at idle. If I don't do that, they die and can't be restrarted without repriming (i.e. squeezing the bulbs pretty vigorously). Anybody else had that problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated."

"Yah, but both at once? One motor is a 2004 with 140 hrs on it, the other is a 2007 with about 10 hrs on it (Honda had replaced it)."

"Yes, and that's the only thing the mechanic has checked so far - says there's no water in the separators. I have been reading that there are something like four filters between the tank and the intake. One is called the VST tank filter and has caused a lot of problems in some big Yamahas (i.e. non-Hondas). This boat is an '05 and spent most of it's life on a rack before I bought it in Febuary. I'm just starting to use it myself at this point. The problem seems to start in the older/original motor and pull the new motor down (which I understand is a safety feature). I wonder whether one or more of those filters is varnished or otherwise plugged in the older motor."
