It appeared my 225 Optimax water pump was not pumping water. I removed the lower unit to examine the pump impeller and related parts. The old impeller did not shoe signs of wear. I installed a new kit since I had everything apart. With water muffs on the motor I started the but no water was pumping. Putting the motor in gear the prop did not spin. Why is the shaft not turning with the motor on?
