Bought secondhand 225 optimax 2005. Got new basic smartcraft gauges. New mercury throttle. Mounted it on boat and put leg in barrel. Its got the alarm on perminantly but runs fine. Also got new 2 stroke tank.
Alarm on guage means.....an engine malfunction occured.

Bought secondhand ddt scanner with 1.1 software and it all talks to ecm nicely.
Did basic test ....not running and it said...alarm active.

Ran it and tested coils and they are fine and thats as far as i got.
Number 6 or 7 led is on.
On the basic test i think it also said horn active.
I would like to congratulate mercury for making the most irriting noisey alarm sound on the planet as well. I feel like beating the buzzer to death with a big hammer.
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
