I was reading on here a couple days ago about the clear plastic breaking off the cam follower roller leaving only the black piece behind.

Is it OK to do the "gap adjustments" over with that piece missing? Or do I need to break down and buy that part?

There is about a 1/8" gap there between the cam and roller and the manual says it needs to be .005".

Break down, bite the bullet, let the moths out of the wallet!

That cam roller in the proper size is an absolute necessity. Without it, the timing is off in relation to the fuel supplied, and you are actually inviting a pre-ignition scenario that results in melted pistons. Nuff said?

That's what I thought. I was worried about the timing issue. Just wanted to be sure! Thanks so much for the quick response! I'm headed to the local dealer when they open...
