" I have a 2000 225 Ficht with a 4 blade stainless 19 pitch prop pushing a 23' bay boat. Does anyone know how many RPMs it should be running at full throttle? It only runs about 5000 to 5100 with the motor trimmed up, but it seams like it should be a little higher. Does this sound right?
I am also having problems with it not wanting to shift from forward back into neutral. I removed the shift switch and checked it; it works. I am wondering if both could be the result of an improper control cable setting?
Thanks... "

Shifting Problem.

Shifting Problem.

Get someone to spin the prop while you shift. Check the distance that the Shifter has to travel in each direction. They should be equal.

If the travel is not equal...an adjustment must be made at the engine.

As for the 4 blade prop you are running...my experience points toward using a HighFive. Yes they are avail for Ficht engines...just check with a Merc dealer. I have customers that achieve higher Rpm's...Hole Shot and overall speed improvements.
