1983 Carver Riviera w/ twin inboards

Port Engine at WOT tops out at 3400 RPM's. Starboard top out at 2800 RPM's at 2/3 full throttle and will not increase to WOT.

What are the proper props for this boat. Current Props are 4 blade Mich Dyna Jet 16" x 16"

Starboard engine will only warm up to a little over 100dF but will increase temp with increase throttle. Thermostat was replaced twice in a month and does the same thing.

HELP

You need to make that cold motor come up to temperature. Somehow water is bypassing the t-stat. On old Chryslers, it's common to see rust erosion around the t-stat, which allows water to slip by.

Don't mess with the props until you resolve this.

Knowing if these are FWC or Raw Water only would help, too.

I'd guess raw water and a check ball spring issue on the starboard side and the need to service the advance mechanism inside the distributors on both.

The temp problem end up being the sending unit on the Starboard engine.

THe difference in RPM's was timing. Both now run at 3400 RPM WOT

Still doesn't answer why I can get to the 4400 rpm rated.
