20hp pull start manual converting to remote control with steering wheel

Can someone help point me in the right direction and what is needed to convert to remote control. (1988 20-HP)

As of right now, I have the steering wheel/dash kit.

You need all the linkages for throttle and shift

Possibly a starter motor and ring gear.----See a good dealer or scour E-bay for the parts.----A $100 parts / donor motor is also an option.

Ok thanks for the input? Will they also be a rectifier box(cdi) needed? Will 50 hp mercury parts work on a 20 hp?

no 50 hp parts. The longshaft motors show up pretty regularly with burned up powerheads and a lot of those were remote motors. If you find a 25 hp parts motor put the carb on yours.

Rectifier and CDI are separate / different items.-----Agreed.-----Nothing from a 50 HP can be used.-----Rectifier / charging coil are not needed if you charge the battery on occasion.
