20hp Johnson not sure what year

It will start up and run for a few seconds and then die. I can not get it to start up after that. I used a 50:1 ratio.

Others will chime in but I think you have a 1973 engine. Try pumping the bulb when It starts to die and see what happens.Good luck

I tried that, it idled longer, but ended up dying within 30 seconds of cranking it.
