20hp idles well but stalls

My old merc will idle well but

My old merc will idle well but as soon as I put it into gear and put a little throttle to it it stalls out. Any Ideas?

You should check the compression first.

If compression is good, I would suspect either a clogged carb or weak/no spark in one cylinder.
