Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me with a problem that has already stumped a few marine mechanics..... My 20 DF is mounted on an older Naden boat, my problem is when I get to a certain RPM my motor quits spitting water out the pee hole .... at idle, all good, start to accelerate all good, then when I get somewhere just over half throttle it stops spitting (peeing).... I can find an RPM when it will actually stop, the red light comes on then stalls... however if I continue through that RPM range to 3/4 to full it will start spraying again...
So the impeller has been taken out inspected found to be good and put back in, all hoses and lines have been inspected, no leaks or cracks.... the way the motor is mounted the cavitation plate is slightly below the transom (within an inch)... can someone give me any clues or possibilities???? My only thoughts might be thermostat, but that may be a stretch. Thank you all!!!
