My 2021 150 ProXS had a high pitched whine at low RPM that drove me nuts. After several trips to the dealer, nothing helped. It was always while in a no wake type cruise and below 1500 rpm.
Turns out, all I had to do was switch from a 4 blade aluminum which I was running.....to a 3 blade Merc Tempest stainless prop and no more awful whine. Amazing just a prop change would do that.
