I had an issue where the Lower Unit was stuck in forward in all shift positions. Upon diagnosing, I found the shift link was disconnected from the upper shift shaft assembly. After further inspection, I found the stud on top of the shift shaft broke off (which held the shift link on).
Has anyone had this happen? Is there anyway to get the shift shaft assenbly off without removing the powerhead? Would it be possible to drill a hole and put a bolt through to reconnect it to the shift link? Any input or ideas would be appreciated.
