2019 Yamaha 115FB engine flush question

I have a 2019 Yamaha 115. My mechanic told me I could use the attached flush port to flush the engine after use, which I would prefer over the ear muffs. But when I use attached port, water only comes from the foot of the motor (nothing comes from the 'pee hole'). He had never seen that before and felt the attach flush port should flush the whole engine. Any ideas?

When I run my Suzuki on muffs I can see the pee stream pressure increase when the well pump kicks on. I’m running the well pump 30-50psi. Don’t know Yamaha but I have 2 ports on the Suzuki, one on the engine and one on the lower unit. Fresh water engine so I’ve never used the flush ports.
