2016 Mercury 150 4-stroke Tilt/Trim Issue

Hello, While on the lake my trim unit would raise up but not go down. Motor would run when switch was moved in either direction so I didn't think it is an electrical issue. Pulled the boat out of the water with the motor in the full up position. Fluid reservoir was full. I unscrewed the manual release valve (3 turns) but the motor still would not go down, even with my entire weight on the lower unit. Once home I removed the trim unit from the motor and completely removed the manual release valve letting some of the fluid out. I still cannot compress the piston. Next step is to pull apart the cylinder (waiting for a tool) but wanted to check if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks!

one of my 150's is definitely sticky, but with a couple up/down clicks it goes down....hasn't stuck yet.
