As i understand it, Tohatsu manufactures the portable line of Merc 4 strokes. I see that a remote control conversion kit is available for Tohatsu branded 4, 5, and 6 hp outboards. A local Mercury dealer has told me that Mercury doesn't offer a conversion kit until the 9.9. Logic wants to tell me that the Tohatsu kit for the 4 hp should be 100% compatible with a Mercury branded 4hp but can anyone verify this? Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance.
