I am looking for guidance please.
My merc is not performing like it usually does this past weekend I had it in the gulf by Destin Fl. It ran fine for most of the trip but on the last day we noticed a significant loss of power when we went to put it on the trailer.
Here are the differences from day 1 to day 3.
Day 1 and 2.
Used fuel from fill up at a station near my home in Texas. Pennzoil platinum outboard oil was added to resivior and tank was topped off.
Day 3. Added approximately 10-15 gallons of fuel bought from Race Track in Destin. While fishing got about 30 yards of fishing line caught in propeller.
Motor was flushed and washed immediately every day when it was loaded on trailer. I removed most of the line and plan to pull the prop to get the rest. I have also run Lucas through fuel system. Still can't figure out why I am losing about 3-400 rpm off the take off and top end.
