2011 Mercury 115 EFI power tilt trim question

Hi all.
I have a Tracker Targa with a 2011 Merc 115 EFI. No real issues but a question you might be able to answer. I have removed both the cranking battery and trolling battery in preparation for Winter storage. Here is the weird part. The power tilt and trim still function! Can anybody tell me why? Is there a capacitor somewhere holding a charge? or another battery hidden? I cant find any answers online elsewhere and nothing in the boat or engine manual. I am puzzled!

I would say you have another battery somewhere.-----------Follow the wires to find it.

That is what I thought too. I followed the wiring harness' and they either go up to the console or return from the console to the battery box, or from the battery box direct to the engine. I have checked every compartment, under things and behind things and no sign of another battery. I am really puzzled.

FRIG! Solved the issue! In the stern there are two deep cycle batteries. Fine, they are both located in a battery compartment, secured. I hunted every compartment down and traced as much wiring as I could see. On a whim, I un-bolted a small 14"X 10" beverage holder...low and behold that beverage tray concealed another compartment which housed a 1000 cranking amp battery! This is not explained anywhere in the boats manual nor the Tracker website! Three batteries on board! At least the issue is solved.

had a guy show up at my camp with a tracker that would not turn over....he was working on the wrong battery....between use of a meter and the absence of any wire heavy enough for start current it didnt take too long to diagnose....he just had to pay the landing price for a new battery..lol

Yeah..the third battery is under the rear casting platform, and access is through a beverage holder. Good use of dead space, but it is not explained anywhere in the manual. I assume his cranking battery was toast and would not hold a charge? Sounds like he did no prep before heading up to your camp. He deserves to pay the big $$$ for a new battery
