2011 Merc 4.3L V6 Dying

My Merc engine will start but die when throttling and also die while idling. Can get RPMs up by moving throttle back and forth but when throttle held steady at higher RPM (3000 or so), RPMs will start to go down and engine eventually dies. Already put in fresh fuel and replaced fuel filter. Any suggestions?
 
Carburetor was professionally rebuilt 2 years ago and boat ran fine a month ago but after sitting for just 4 weeks it started having the engine dying issue. l siphoned out the gas and put in fresh gas and replaced the fuel filter but problem is the same.
 
4.3 l v 6 having the same problem no fuel pump changed that going to try coil will let you know if we can figure it out. seems to be overheating one exchanger frying eggs while other is fine like a big mac, carb cleaner seems to help let it set in there for a while.got a little further today put still the same issues runs great starts fine but only wants to go so far Iknow this does not help but we will figure it out check threads a lot of good advice google it will post the drama as it unfolds and cost .also looking into tank pump seems to be not picking up fuel looking for some chit in line from tank or sensor coolant or oil unplugged them did start and run but was late and dock was close bailed tomorrow's another day

Have you looked on the large plastic cover on your engine?

For the purposes of this discussion, Carbs DON'T have a serial number they have a part number. The serial number on a carb is not what is needed for carb issues, the part number is to identify it for service repair.

If the carb was sitting on a shelf all by itself, not only would it be lonely, the serial number may be the only way to identify what it may have been used for.

I will add an opinion here...........If you have no idea about the serial number for your mercruiser engine, transom or outdrive maybe you should be bringing your boat to an authorized service center and let them correct your issues Unless you feel comfortable servicing your own mercruiser.
And if you do you may want to invest in a manual to start with so you can get a better understanding of what you have.

its not broke until you refuse too fix it
 
every repair problem has IM changing coil today nope boat store dredge harbor in Riverside NJ wanted 80. dollars lol no wonder brick and mortar stores are sinking?Will order online and wait beside he did not have any way at his 300 % markup Still, think it might be the fuel line pick up tube in tank but need replacement before I break it .hmmmmm fixing the boat a pain in the azz one day out boating priceless Seems that the coil is bad from reserching the web fixed a lot of boats problems with the same case scenario.

....especially if you think your engine has two heat exchangers...
 
Re:" brick and mortar stores and 300% markups".... Yep, you can find anything on the internet for pennies on the dollar. The issue is that even the "good" aftermarket marine engine parts company has some less than good quality parts.... and brick and mortar ( especially chain) don't sell counterfeit or stolen parts. Stick to OEM from legit sources ( including this forum's hosting sponsor).
