2011 90hp EFI running problems

I bought a suntracker 2012 with this mercury 90hp 4-stroke. I have maybe 20 hrs on it and the last couple of times I've taken it out it has been troublesome after about 30 mins running. It loses power and will not rev, eventually it stalls. After several attempts and maybe 20 mins it restarts but lacks power, but enough to limp home.
I thought it was bad gas but fixed that and it's still the same ....... anyone know what the problem is, thx

You have a 5 year old motor that has probably sat around (20 hours) for most of that five years and never saw a day of maintenance (guys usually don't pay to service a motor they don't use).

An EFI 90 has some sensors any one of them could be bad or you could have clogged injectors, a bad fuel pump etc.

You need to take this to a Merc Dealer who has a DDT - pay to have it plugged in and checked.

If you bought this from a dealer I would go back to them and ask if the motor was checked out before the sale.

If you bought "the perfect rig" in a private sale then maybe you are just starting to find out that it wasn't sold because it was perfect - because if it really was it wouldn't have been for sale.

4 strokes need annual maintenance and it becomes even more important the less that they are actually used. Don't be surprised if it isn't cheap to get this motor back into running order.
