I need your help. I have a Merc 90 EFI on a 20 foot pontoon that has a few idling issues. The engine runs fine in idle but dies when putting into forward or reverse gear. If you give it a bit of throttle when doing so, it will not die. Once on the lake, the engine runs fine, however, it will die if you a running and just want to cut back on the throttle down to a slow idle or neutral. Same thing happens when trying to dock the boat.....will run fine - but - when approaching the dock and reducing the throttle, the engine will just die - makes it hard to dock. Plugs replaced last year. Motor does not have alot of hours on it...use it 1 month out of each year.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I was planning on doing fuel filters first...btw.
