2010 ETEC Electrical Issues

Good Morning All,

I have a 2010 90HP E90DSLISE. The motor will crank up and idle just fine for extended periods of time. However, once it warms up it will periodically shut off more commonly on idle. Often times once it shuts off i will start it, it dies, start it then dies, and then start it again to open up the throttle quick and will be fine. In addition, I am getting several low voltage alarms (12 Volt Circuit BELOW range) come on during these sequences. I am beginning to think I am having a stator issue. This being, when I run with Simrad on the issue is more prevalent, and one time the motor shut off when i hit the trim button. The battery is not having issues keeping itself charged, however could it be just not enough power to go around to power all these components on a weak/going out stator? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

You need to measure voltage output when the engine is running. You should see about 13.6volt when charging. If you're getting less you likely have a stator issue.

Also, check the water passages in your EMM. It's possible you're lacking water flow through the EMM to keep it cool and that's causing your problem.
