200opti beeps

Hi there everyone! I have a 2000’ Optimax that was just in the shop because the alarms were going off. 4 beeps every 2 minuets. Turns out I was a magnet in the oil tank attached to th motor that had slipped or something. Had to get a new tank.
Today, I took boat out first time since repair and ran the boat all day without any issues except my rpm was reading differently but the sound of the motor sounded the same. Gauge seems to get wacky from time to time. The problem is that when I was no waking back to dock the alarm went off 4 beeps but then there was nothing after that. I looked at the dash and my bulge switch was on and have no idea how long. Boat idled for about 5 min before I trailered it and no alarms went off.
Seems odd to me. Any ideas if there is some sort of an issue that needs attention?

You'll probably get more direct help over in the Mercury OB Forum:

I would assume your engine communicates digitally with the tach. If you have adapted to an analog tach there is a Pulse switch on the back of the tach which lets you configure it to different outboards. Sometimes the contacts in the pulse switch can corrode and simply rotating the dial to multiple positions then back to your original setting will 'clean' the contacts and fix the issue. If you have a digital tach, your issue could be in the wiring, the tach itself, or you have an issue with your ECM.
