The trim just stopped working. Completely. It only clicks when trying to engage. I checked the the relays and the wires like the manual said, but still nothing. I took it to a mechanic and he could not find out what is going on. Somehow he got the motor to work manually. (not sure how) so the motor is not the problem. but he was not sure what it could be. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Trace the wires back from the electric motor to its connector and connect battery jumper wires directly to the electric motor. Connected one way raises... reversing the connection lowers. If the motor raises and lowers the enginge, then obviously the electric motor is okay. A starting point.
