2009 mercury 90 efi wont idle

My motor wont idle. Hit the key, it runs great for 5 seconds. Will start to sputter and run rough then die. Hit the key will repeat over and over.
If you push the button on the shifter to advance the idle just a bit it will idle smooth all day long. Thrown a bunch of parts at it with no luck. Any ideas?
 
If this occurs after the boat isn't used for a week or more and if you have a primer bulb, squeeze it before cranking.
