2008 Yamaha F115TXR will not tilt up. New to outboards, need help!

I have a 2008 F115TXR that is stuck in the down position. When I try to raise it, it only clicks. Going down the Tilt/trim motor runs. Any help would be appreciated.

Get yourself a model year specific service manual....necessary if you're a DIY. Since you've r/o the motor I'd next address the electrical path to the trim motor.

Does the engine trim up/down using the cowling switch?

If so, open the control throttle arm lever and remove the trim switch. Open the switch and clean the contact points. Reassemble and test.

If not, grab a meter and volt drop test the path to locate the resistance.

Reversed the blue and green connections to the tilt/trim relay and now it will go up but not down. Verdict - bad relay.
