Hello All,
I have a Mercury 60HP EFI Bigfoot on my pontoon boat. The motor is a 2008 and in the 1C070000 series. I bought the boat used a few years ago and never had a problem. I was originally a rental boat.
When I first start the boat and run at WOT for about 30 min, I have no problems. After sitting on the beach for a few hours the motor starts to act up when we head home. When I try to run wide open (around 5k RPM), the motor starts to buck as if I’m running out of gas. I can throttle back to about 3k rpm and the motor runs smoothly. Changing the fuel filter was no help. I’ve also tried to squeeze the primer bulb or to open the fuel cap when the problem started without help. I’ve seen diagrams online that show an inline filter, but I’m unable to find it. Any input on the issue is welcome.
