2008 50hp Mercury 3 cyl 2 stroke with bad compression on one cylinder

Purchased a 2008 50ELPTO serial no 852067t98 with low compression on one cylinder. Cant afford a new power head but would like to purchase a used motor or power head to fix it. What model years can I use as a donor for this motor? I see a lot of 1990 up motors available

Not sure. I bought it off a guy that bought a new 50 hp 4 stroke after the boat dealer told him it had bad compression on one cylinder and would cost more than it was worth to fix it. Just want to see what my options are for power head replacements.

I believe 40 to 60 hp triples are interchangeable.

Just heard from a power head source that 1998 through 2011 power heads could be used. If anyone knows of a good source for a used power head or has one I would be interested.
