I have a 2008 40hp bigfoot and it has been running fine until late today. I ran it most today and all of a sudden if I run at an idle around 2000 rpm the motor will surge from 2000rpm and drop to about 1500rpm and then goes back to 2000rpm and just keeps doing that. It also runs rough if I put it in gear and let it idle. It seems to run ok if I am above 2500rpms. Any help would be appreciated as I am new to boating and now very little.
