2008 20 hp tohatsu wont fire up

our 20 hp seems to not have any spark. we replaced the coil and plugs, also we are not getting the alarm that usually sounds when first turning the ignition on,any thoughts?

What is the actual model (not year)? Could be a bad ground or failed CD.

Thanks for replying, it is a MFS20C 3BJ .It has power tilt which is working well.

Have you tested the alternator?

No, It was charging well when it was running last, do you test for a short without the motor running?

The alternator powers the ignition. Full info in the Factory service manual.

Doubtful. It's copyrighted.

It came off the Tohatsu website, 277 page service manual. Much more in depth than my owners manual.I will try a few of the recommended tests and see what i come up with.
