Looking for information on an idle problem that has been dogging a friend of mine. He has a 2008 115Hp Optimax Pro that wont idle. any help would be appreciated.

Compression test and many trips to dealer mechanics have been done to no success I read that the throttle linkage might be out of adjustment any thoughts on this?

The throttle linkage has nothing to do with the idle on your engine. If the compression test and leak down tests were done and all looks good.... I would look at the reed valves. There are two ways to inspect, Remove the throttle plate and put a camera in or hook it up to CDS and look for elevated air temps on the intake. I would also look at the TPS voltage.

I would also look at the condition of the belt and belt tensioner, if the belt is worn and slips on the compressor the engine will stall. It will also stall if the belt is getting wet.

I have he exact same problem on my 2010 Optimax 115. I have mitigated it, but not eliminated it through better treatment of gas. I put seafoam direct into the fuel filter slot after draining the fuel filter and running it early in the year. It gets dirty and causes problems. But still not perfect idling. The compression tests showed nothing when I had them done.

no ethanol should be used in the gas. It’s the main culprit.
