2007 volvo 5.0

I have a 2007 Reinell with a volvo 5.0 never abused. 124 hours on the meter and yesterday it threw a rod through the oil pan. Has anyone had anything like this happen before. Is it worth contacting volvo to see if they will stand behind this product. The marine says 4300 to fix it. New motor.

Nobody has had any issues or heard of anything like this before?

What model?Not really the block is a Smallblock Chevy.Most time they are bullet proof and can take TONS of abuse.
Try Volvo they might be interested and would know if there was any other problems.
If your mechanical you can do the swap yourself.And save a couple thousand.

In the inland NW. Not that mechanical but were working with Volvo sounds like they are gonna stand behind it. The marina that pulled the motor said it looked like a casting issue with the rod.
