2007 Merc 2.5HP 4 Stroke - stalls after 1/4 throttle

Hi, I have a 2007 Merc 2.5HP 4 stroke.

The motor is in exec condition and ran perfect for years. Last year I started to have a problem with the throttle, when after about 1/4 turn it would begin to stall. I managed to make it through the season by feathering the choke as needed to compensate. It did the trick at the time... I assumed it was the carb and just wanted to get through the season.

I stored the motor last year (drained gas, left carb empty) and just took it out this year. Before I even cranked it, I replaced the plug, oil, new gas, and pulled and cleaned the carb. Put it back together and it cranked on the 2nd pull. Ran perfect at idle.

But, after 1/4 turn on throttle... same issue... stalls. Could this still be carb related? Thoughts..
 
Yes, most probably. You may have got some of the "cooties" out but not all.

A complete disassembly and thorough cleaning is probably in order. Your "feathering the choke" is indicative of a blockage somewhere in the main jet or nozzle - but must also make sure the float valve and any other needle valves are serviceable/not clogged.

Single cylinder 4 strokes are handicapped from the start. Only every second rotation is "power" (exhaust is the other). This means that they are far more sensitive to a super clean carb and overall well tuned motor.
 
I figured... Just didnt know if I was missing something silly. Ill probably end up soaking the carb this time.

You wouldnt happen to know where I can get some specs to the carb, float adjustment? Its a simple setup, but there are 2 tabs for adjustment which also controls the needle on the pivot. Im wondering if something is off there. Ive broken it down afew times, but always used my best judgement each time on assembly.

Trying to not spend money on a manual for something simple. I cant seem to find anything on the net with searches though.
