Hello brains trust!
Today on a trip out fishing shortly after leaving the marina my boat started to "walk around" on its own, leaving over heavily to one side or another. It was a pretty windy day with some decent swell and i though maybe it was undercurrent or possibly something to do with my trim tabs. I noticed that there was a lot of rotational movement of the engine without any input from the steering which i thought would be the likely culprit. When getting back to the ramp and the boat out of the water I noticed a circlip that was just sitting there on a bolt and above it seems the motor has dropped down creating a substantial amount of space. Ill attach a few photos below to try and make it a little clearer as I'm sure I'm not doing the best job of describing it. The arrow is pointing toward where the I found the circlip and I also noticed there is a distinct round marking below it where I assume there was some kind of spacer.
Ive always had a little play but nothing like this to the point where it was very unnerving.

Any help would be very much appreciated

If you don’t have a genuine Suzuki service manual I would suggest you get one, above link has them in pdf form. I’ve purchased a couple of manuals from them and had no issues with unauthorized charges on my credit card.

Judging by the bonding wire screw it looks like it has been apart before unless the bonding wire was changed and nobody went any deeper.

I’ve never had to mess with my Swivel Bracket so I’m not speaking from experience only guesses and speculation. The Circlip part #10 in the link above is what I think you found. My best guess is one of the Brackets has let go. The link below shows the Lower Bracket, (3 choices) part #13. They call one the Lower Bracket so I’m assuming there is an Upper Bracket somewhere?

Having issues uploading a couple of screenshots, will try a separate post.
