2007 75hp etec

Hey guys, looking for some insight from people who are more familiar with the newer Evinrude outboards than I am. A little back ground, I own a boat rental company and have multiple outboards Yamaha, honda, merc, etc. I also have some older Evinrudes but this is my first ETEC. I am having a H%$l of a time with this one.

Its never really ran great, bogs down, stalls out, doesnt really idle well etc. Ive done all of the normal things, changed fuel lines, filters, pumps, rebuilt VST, nothing has fixed the problem. I finally broke down and purchased Obdstar Marine master scanner (i should have one anyway). The fist issue was it was stuck in "winterizing mode". I fixed that issue, but now its throwing me Code 55, 104, 106. The motor is a three cylinder and these are codes for a 6 cylinder. Everything I am reading is that the EMM is not functioning correctly and needs to be rebuilt. Before I send this out and spend a bunch of money, I am curious if anyone else has had this problem? Any suggestions to try before?

a few other questions are
-if I send it out do I need to get the injectors reprogrammed? Ive read different things.
-have you rebuilt one of these? If so, was it that difficult?
--is there a company that you would recommend to rebilud?

Are you the original owner or was this engine acquired 2nd hand? It's possible someone swapped an incompatible EMM onto the engine just o get it sold. What year and model does your diagnostic report say the engine is?

If you EMM is the correct one for this engine and it's giving you odd info, it's very likely in need of repair. I'm not directly familiar with any of the repair services, but it looks like Evinrude EMM Repair in Hermitage, TN still works on units for a wide range of years and models.

Depending on the level of EMM repair required, the fuel map data for the injectors should be retained in the EMM. However, if your EMM is not the original for this engine (as I suspect), you will likely need to provide the serial number or QR code for each injector so the repair service can upload the correct data for each unit while repairing and/or reprogramming your EMM.
