Hello!
I'm trying to help my grandfather fix up his 2007 Yamaha 40hp 4-stroke outboard motor on his pontoon boat. The issue he describes is that "it isn't peeing" when he was trying to run the motor. He had the hose hooked up with the engine flush ears (I guess that is what they're called), but water just wasn't being pumped out I suppose.
We are trying to replace his water pump impeller, but the foot holding the propeller won't come off. We followed the steps in this video (
) and we removed all the bolts, but it just isn't sliding off like his was, only about 2 inches. The guy in the video says that he disconnected the linkage without showing it, and we can't figure out how to do that.
Can anyone give us advice on how to get this thing off?
