I have a 2006 Mercury 60hp 4 stroke. The issues I'm having are after idling or slowing for no wake I go to accelerate and it won't go past around 3k rpm or 8mph. If I talked it out of gear and rev it a couple times then go back in gear it will start running normal again. I changed plugs, and both fuel filters. I tried leaving the gas cap cracked to see if it is vapor locking not that didn't help.
I have not run a compression test yet but I don't feel like that would be the issue considering when it's running at full speed it's smooth.
