Hi,i need your help please.
Porblem 1: 2006 mercury 15hp 4stroke
I have oil leaking from some lower part of the engine down the shift linkage and onto
the floor. I know its engine oil because i replaced it and its leaking clear oil i put in. What can it be? compression is strong on both cyl.
Problem 2: Engine is running rough. I got stuck on the water a month ago. engine died out and everytime i started it, it would rev really high even when throttle handle was on low then just die out. I got home, cleaned carb and it seems to run now but rough. Things i did. "new coil, new plugs, new fuel line with bulb, took off all the lines including filter and blew them through to ensure no debris is there. changed oil and filter. What can it possibly be? compression is strong at 187 top cyl and 185 bottom cyl. What do i mean by running rough? it vibrates like crazy when running. Once in a while i hear a popping sound. is that a miss? and how do i fix that? Why would timing be off all of a sudden? and how do i fix it if that is the issue. Thank you for you help in advance.
