"I have a 2006, 9.9 4 stroke that starts with the choke all the way out but stalls immediately when I try to ease the choke in.

Took off the carburetor and cleaned the float, low idle jet and needle but no help.

Any input would be appreciated"

You are not really cleaning th

You are not really cleaning the carburetor. The spray cleaner you are using is too weak to do anything. Get a one gallon pail of carburetor cleaner from an auto parts store and soak the metal bits of the carb in it for a couple of hours.

Same problem here with 2006 tiller shift 9.9

After soak and clean any advise on how to set up?

Any idea what the purpose of the rubber tube on the top of the carb?

All of my fuel lines have started to crack at the fittings. Not too happy for less than 28 months in seasonal service

""After soak and clean any

""After soak and clean any advice on how to set up?" You shouldn't be doing anything to it as it is in warranty and you don't know what you are doing. Do you have a service manual? That's your second mistake. The third mistake would be for me to tell you how to do it and then have you overlook something...

"Any idea what the purpose of the rubber tube on the top of the carb?" That is the boot that protects the auto choke feature from getting debris into the carburetor.

"All of my fuel lines have started to crack at the fittings. Not too happy for less than 28 months in seasonal service" If you have the black fuel line that came with the engine and are using a gas/alcohol fuel it's rare to have any problem with a decaying fuel line at this point. It could be that you are having premature failure due to UV exposure, but I'm not certain. Let your dealer look at it and make a determination based on their local experience with the product in the same conditions."

My dealer says that the 06 mod

My dealer says that the 06 models run like " x " they are too touchy and he recommends buying a new motor. As a commercial user my warranty is only a year.

I am using premium fuel in all my engines from a station I trust. My Hondas Yamaha and OMC are all working well on it.

Thanks for your help. The bucket of solvent was a good suggestion. I will order a Seloc

They are touchy. Very touchy.

They are touchy. Very touchy. You need to go crazy when you clean these. Get a bottle of good commode cleaner from the grocery and soak it in that first. Take it all way apart. Than spray carb cleaner second. Than soak it in gasoline third.
Than do it all over again tommorrow when it clogs up again.
