2006 90 e-tec

i have a 2006 90hp e-tec. the trim and tilt actuator is leaking at the shaft seal. can this be repaired by replacing the shaft seal o ring or do i have to replace the hole unit. the trim motor works fine

Check first that the upper trim cylinder pin-bolt is not sticking and making the trim rod bend. To replace the seal, remove the upper pin-bolt, unscrew the cap, pull out rod and piston, remove piston part and change the seal. If the pin has been sticking and bushing in the end-cap has been oval, replace the end-cap.
