2006 150 evinrude etec, stalls

Im new to this forum,, hope I can get some advice
I have a 2006 150 evinrude etec, we replaced the fuel tank, and while still remodeling the boat during off season, we started the motor and it ran well, suddenly the motor would not start, it crank but would not start. we decided to connect a portable 6 gallon fuel tank, after a while it started and would stay running but stalls like it wants to shut off. We hear a knocking sound on the rear of the motor, no smoke, and notice small amount of oil on the propeller. Someone told me that it sounds like one of the injector might be stock or not working properly, no alarms.
Any advice?

Did it start back up? What have you checked? Does it start now?Does it run? Take cowl off,remove lower pans,look for leaks.

Yes it started after connecting the 6 gallon fuel tank, but we are hearing a clanking noise in the back, someone said could be the injectors, we already had 2 replaced
 
Knocking noises are not good.-----Did you confirm oiling system is working properly ?-----Running on a hose or with boat floating in the water ?
