I recently purchased a Reniell

I recently purchased a Reniell boat with a Volvo Penta Sx motor. it was running great until a week ago. my issue is it starts and runs fine but when i turn the key to shut off the engine it sputters and tries to keep running. If i let it idol for about 5 min it will shut off just fine. I was wondering what this might be? I appreciate any help.

Letting the boat engine idle for a few mins before shutting it off is generally a good idea anyway."

You may need to use higher oct

You may need to use higher octane fuel or add octane booster to the gas.
