2005 Mercury 40hp ELPTO 3 cyl. two stroke

The easiest way is to simply run an oil line between the in and out on the pump (so it simply loops itself) and you can remove the link rod if you wish.

Plug the input on the fuel pump (well enough that it doesn't suck air) or simply remove the t-connector where the oil line feeds in to the fuel line, with a straight connector. You can remove the oil tank if you wish but won't hurt leaving it in place.

If you leave the tank in place make sure you disconnect the bullet connectors (wires at the bottom of the tank) to stop the "low oil" alarm from going off.

Then mix at 50:1

There used to be a (kit) available to completely remove the oil pump and cover the (hole) left by the removal but not sure if it's still a stock part or not. A Merc dealer could tell you for sure.
