I made the mistake of going inside after starting the engine to flush after a day of fishing. I made a sandwich and returned outside to find the earmuffs laying on the ground and the motor running without water. I don't know exactly how long the motor was running without water (upto 5 minutes). I turned the key off, put the water back on for a couple minutes, then restarted the engine. It started fine, and I thought I was in the clear, until it stalled about 3 minutes later. Now, it cranks over but stalls after about 3-5 seconds. There seems to be a gas problem.
Does anyone have any experience or advice with this kind of situation? What should I try to resolve the issue?
The overheat temperature alarm never went off, so I thought that I caught it in time, but there is obviously something wrong now.
Thanks for any help you can give.
