Hey all new to Forum and boating as well. I bought a 2002 suntracker pontoon boat with a 2005 90hp 3cylinder 2 stroke outbard. Issue i tfrst i wasnt ettng hig RPMs, and the moto would bog down. I had mehanic look at it. First he rebuilt the Fuel pump-No Change He then said it was bad spark. Ended up chaging Stator, Trigger and 3 coils. Now the3 boat runs better but still bogs down. I replaced primer bulb, fuel filter, and gas tank. The boat will run good for a few mins. the bog down. If i Squeeze primer bulb which is hard, the boat will ta off and rn as i should for a few mins then have to repeat.

I am at my wits end and my mechanic i Swamped. Any one gt ideas that may help me???

Sound like you need to replace all your fuel lines, the liner in your fuel lines may be collapsing restricting fuel flow. Since you can squeeze the primer bulb and it gets better for a short while, I would start with the section of line from the primer bulb to the outboard. And then I would then replace the section from the tank connection on the outboard to the fuel pump.

Good Luck

Good numbers. Look for either a plugged vent on the tank, or an air leak in the line on the way to the fuel pump. A leaky quick disconnect will cause that as well.

OK so i took boat out for the 4th. As long as I stayed below 1/2 throttle it was good boat ran like a Champ. However at full throttle it would run great then bog. We noticed that the primer bulb was soft(Bulb is brand new merc part). But if we pumped it or pushed choke in a few times it would take off. I ran off of a 6 gallon portable tank so i know its not an issue with the tank or primer bulb. There is a connection where hose comes from pump ou of engine and to the primer bulb. I will tighten this up or eliminate it.

The fuel pump was rebuilt 2 weeks ago. I dont know what else is could be. I am going to replace all the fuel lines in engine and double clamp them as they are zip tied right now. Any other suggestions?
