"my friend has a 50 horse 4 stroke, he is getting intermitting beeps at around 6000 rpms, he has to shut off motor to stop beeps, can anyone help?"

"Mike, your buddy should dig into his owners manual. His motor has a "guardian" system onboard that monitors for 3 conditions - over rev, over heat and loss of oil pressure.

The motor is only rated to 6k with optimum WOT being 5750. It's possible that his tach is off a touch and at 6k (by his tach), the guardian is reading a possible/approaching over rev (about 6225) and warning of an impending shutdown of the ignition system to prevent damage to the motor.

At 6225 rpm it will cut the spark to cylinders 2 and 3 or if it senses 6350, it will kill the entire ignition...."
