2004 tohatsu 25 MFS lower unit clutch

I removed the clutch from the prop shaft not realizing the one side is approx 7/32 to the clutch pin snap groove the other side is approx 5/16 to the groove.The clutch has two scribed lines on the 5/16 side. which side faces bevel gear A. The manual covers 25 and 30 hp. Says to put groove(notclutch pin snap) toward bevel gear A. My clutch has no groove. Does anyone know which way it goes?

The end with the scribed lines goes fwd.

Thank paul, thats the way I installed it, but to be sure I understand you correctly, do the scribed lines on the clutch face the short end of the prop shaft that has the push rod

Yep, they face forward, towards the A (fwd) bevel gear.
