2004 mercury 40hp electric start conversion QUESTION!

Hey all I just converted my 2004 mercury 40ml 3 cylinder 2 stroke to remote start. I’m here to ask since the service manual or instructions never said to cap off the gas manual fuel pump or do I just leave it the way it was.
